Olympus OM-D EM-5 Mk II (2018) - RED35 Midterm Review2017 bitch please i m fabulous stone island black friday
Fans of the higher-end OMD EM1 will be pleased to find a redesigned grip, chunkier control dials and buttons, along with a PC Sync port for connecting to external lighting. Olympus has improved the response time of the five-axis stabilization system, now claiming five stops versus four on the EM5 and EM1. Arguably most exciting of all though is the new High Res mode that shifts the sensor slightly over eight shots to generate a single 40 Megapixel image, finally breaking the 16 Megapixel ceiling of Micro Four Thirds, at least for static subjects. It all adds up to one of the most compelling mirrorless cameras to date, so read on to discover if it delivers the goods in practice! The redesigned front grip curves inwards to meet your middle finger, offering a surprisingly effective boost in purchase. The Mark II also swaps the tiny spongey rear buttons of its predecessor with much more tactile and clicky versions which, while not as large as those on the EM1, are again a big step-up from the EM5.
Olympus has introduced some very interesting technologies with real, practical value. Most significantly, Olympus has addressed the issue of noise appearing in some High Res Shot images. We did notice this if there was some movement in the subject between frames. Olympus has improved the speed at which information is displayed when you first switch the camera on. The third enhancement is to audio added to movie files created with the My Clips editing feature — the audio can now be faded in and out.
Follow us. Welcome to the Underwater Photography Guide. Our idea is simple - learn, shoot, explore. The Olympus OM-D line are by far the most popular mirrorless camera used in underwater photography. The newest version, the OM-D E-M5 offers nice improvements from the original E-M5, while continuing with the quality and excellence that one expects in an Olympus mirrorless camera. In this article we discuss our recommended settings for getting the most out of this excellent camera. Below I've compiled several good starting camera settings for different shooting situations.
We flat-out loved that camera. This update successfully adds to the winning design without spoiling what was so great about the original. The black-on-silver, faux leather-on-metal is nostalgic design, but one that still absolutely works today. It has a retro scent, but a slightly less pungent one. Splashproof, dustproof and freezeproof, it has all the signature design points we expect of a thoroughly modern camera too. The only bit that causes a raised eyebrow is the flap covering the ports on the side.
I had a bit of trouble deciding what to title the post though…. You see, after using the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark ii solidly for a month whilst traveling in Europe, I am confident that this little camera is one of the best travel cameras available today. By this I mean a camera that is small, light, weather-proof, tough, fast and of course, takes a great picture. Despite the emergence of many other great micro-four-thirds cameras over the years since the release of this, the OM-D E-M5 Mark II continues to be one of my favourites. It makes photography easier and it makes it a lot of fun.
