Living with the 2017 Triumph Street Triple RS - Long Term Review2017
Where better, then, for Triumph to launch its new Street Triple? A bike and a company with impressive history, which is sailing high in the sales charts — and has a MotoGP link lingering about in the background We're here for a lightning day out with Triumph's new naked sporty-roadster. Half a day on the Catalan mountain roads behind Barca, then a half-day supersaver trackday ticket for Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. And we're riding the top-spec RS version of the Street Triple: the new cc, high-tech triple that aims to redefine the class — using an engine that's set to power the next generation of Moto2 race bikes after

Dear me. Triumph's Street Triple was already about the best middleweight naked bike you could buy. Now it's up to cc, while somehow dropping two kilograms. With four different models available — and a low ride height option — the Striple just got a lot better, for an even wider range of riders. As far as many folks were concerned, Triumph's Street Triple was already the king of the middleweight naked class, even if the definition of "middleweight" has been sneaking upwards lately to include bikes like Yamaha's MT FZ and Ducati's Streetfighter When a cc bike is referred to as a middleweight, you know you're living in times of plenty. Still, the Street Trip punched above its weight on the basis of its sporty engine character, light weight and confidence-inspiring handling, making it an ideal everyday fun machine for a very broad range of riders.
Or should that be Street Triples? Triumph has launched three bikes: the S, R and RS, all with varying states of tune and specs, although the only model present at the international press gig was the full-fat RS version. Is it? Our first challenge involved circumnavigating the snazzy TFT dash. I felt like an year-old struggling to learn how to use a computer for the first time — maybe I just needed more time. In fact, the whole bike is another level of slick and intuitive; the clutch action is ridiculously light, as are the rest of the controls, which lends the RS a certain fluidity to its game.

The Street Triple is every bit as good as any off-the-shelf supersport bike, a testament to the development talents of the Triumph team.
